THE Passion for Power Classic Motor Show is fast approaching and the dream car pavilion will be jam-packed with exotic performance and super status cars. The show takes place at Tatton Park, Knutsford, on August 18-19, and is set to feature an unrivalled selection of the finest exotic metal you’ll see this year. From Lamborghini’s to Ferraris, Jaguar’s and McLaren’s, you are guaranteed to marvel at cars not typically known to the roads of the British Isles.
Joining the amazing range od supercars in the dream car pavilion are the legendary F1 cars driven by racing icons Michael Schumacher and David Coulthard. The Ferrari F2002 and the McLaren MP4/15 will be on display ready to be admired by the public.
Schumacher’s Ferrari was designed by Ross Brawn, Rory Byrne and Paolo Martinelli and was one of the most successful Formula One cars ever designed – it went on to win 15 Grands Prix out of 19. Powered by a 3.0-litre V10 engine, and with a very low centre of gravity, the F2002 had superb handling and although not the strongest engine of 2002 it was lighter, more compact and extremely efficient. The McLaren MP4/15 was the chassis driven by Coulthard in the 2000 Formula One season. The car proved highly competitive and scored seven victories, but was still narrowly beaten to both championships by Michael Schumacher in the Ferrari F1-2000.
Event planner Andy Kitchen said: “To have two legendary F1 cars is extremely exciting and we can’t wait for the public to be able to witness racing history up close.”
Tickets for the show bought on the day cost £9 for adults, £6 for children (10-15 years) and under-10s get in free. Normal park entry charges apply and gates open at 9.30am.
